Being that Pittsburgh’s Stanley Cup winning hockey team is named after this cute water bird (or is it mammal?), we’ve always been big fans of penguins. Frankly who isn’t?
April 25 is World Penguin Day – and while Pittsburgh doesn’t need any help with their PENS, the birds around the world could use our love to help keep them from extinction. Stonyfield YoKids is sponsoring the AZA SAFE (Saving Animals from Extinction) program – a mission to help save endangered species. As part of a year-long effort, Stonyfield will not only be contributing funds to field work but aiming to drive kids and their families to see animals and conservation projects first hand at zoos, aquariums, and on the ground where the research is happening.
In fact, they’ll be hosting a Facebook live from the Mystic Aquarium tomorrow at 12pm EST. Click here to tune in.
And we just LOVE the Mystic Aquarium and all the amazing things they are doing to help animals and aquatics. We’ve been a few times, so here are some of the penguins you’ll get to see up close and live tomorrow.
So just think – every time you drink an organic smoothie this summer, you’ll be helping the penguins. And in fact – you can go see them yourself! For every two multipacks of Stonyfield YoKids you buy, you’ll receive a free kids admission pass with purchase of an adult ticket. You can visit any of the 131 participating AZA accredited member zoos and aquariums (click here for a list) now through the end of September.
This is a sponsored post by Stonyfield but we love penguins so why wouldn’t we want to spread the word?! Thanks for supporting Football Food and Motherhood!
