I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Maximo is a lover (well, and maybe also a fighter). He is one of the sweetest kids in his class and always says goodbye to his classmates with hugs or kisses before he goes home. As a three-year-old he can still get away with that. But it made me think, just how affectionate are we anymore in our day to day activities? Do we really show the ones we care about that we do? Do they know? Toddlers have no problem expressing these feelings and kisses, but with technology and a lot of distance between us and family in this day and age – how do we “virtually blow kisses?”
As you’ve seen this year, I’ve been trying to get back to a lot of my old roots. For all the time and effort I put into technology, I try to balance by being away from it. If I know I am going to be working all day, I try to go for an early morning run. If I have been staring at a computer all day I try to only read while in bed at night. I spent a lot of time this year returning to old fashioned recipes from the farm and using only organic, locally grown ingredients. I started canning again. And I also always write thank you letters personally instead of printing them out. When’s the last time you took the time to #SayMore?

One more step this holiday season? I wanted to Say More to friends and family (or friends who are my family) by just saying we are thinking about them. Everyone loves old fashioned mail, so this Christmas we’ll be shipping our famous Hershey KISSES peanut butter cookies to some much deserving recipients – only these cookies will be extra special with the new Hershey KISSES deluxe Hazelnut. (Twice the size of an original KISSES Chocolate, they have a creamy chocolate center surrounding a whole roasted hazelnut, finished with delicate crisps and smooth milk chocolate which will make this cookies crazy delicious this year!).
We’ll also be including a special little handwritten note inside each to tell them just how much them mean to us. This holiday, Max and I are focusing on traditions that revolve more on giving than receiving, and hopefully this paves the way for a year full of gratitude in 2016.
