Listen, if you haven’t discovered Kidfresh yet, I am going to let you in on a little secret. No matter HOW much I write about cooking from scratch, it DOESN’T HAPPEN EVERY DAY. Listen, I go through ups and downs just like you – such as at this moment I am choosing to write you something extremely witty instead of cooking dinner. That’s for your personal chef. Oh wait, you don’t have one either? Keep reading.
Kidfresh was a life saver when Max started school this past fall (when I say “school” I mean an overpriced 3s program, three days a week in NYC). Schools isn’t like we had. I remember my mom sending me with cup of ramen noodles when I had braces even though I TOLD her I looked like an asshole eating them when they got stuck on the metal. She gave zero fu***. She also didn’t care about “real” veggies or too much MSG. Luckily, I am still here to talk about it.
Kids these days have it easy – it’s the parents that have it hard…nut-free schools, gluten-free options, non-gmos, oh wait, we also don’t allow any heating up at our school so everything is as it was when I packed it at 8am.
See what I am getting at? Again, stop trying to be a hero, and be a hero to yourself. Make sure a few Kidfresh items are placed on your Fresh Direct order every Sunday night so you have them ready to go Monday am.
What’s On The Menu
Maximo’s (and pretty much every toddler) love chicken nuggets. It’s just a God da** American right. These are perfect for lunches. I leave them in the freezer so they defrost just in time for lunch. They’re pretty much great for any occasion… got home late from work? Nuggets it is! Got home REALLY late from that girls night and need a snack at 2am? Even better.
New Rockin’ Tots.
With Squash. And Cauliflower. Remember those little drive up burger joints along the road on the way home where you could get fried cauliflower? No? Ghawt awht. Those were my favorite little things to eat in the entire world. Shirley’s Twin Kiss. Sheakleyville, PA. Look it up. Yes, it’s 100% real. However, now you don’t have to go all the way to redneckville where I grew up to locate these delicious fried balls of veggies – because KidFresh has actually made them healthy for you, and delivers them right to your door (Ranch dressing not included). I am not going to lie, I probably eat these more than Maximo. Throw these bad boys in the toaster oven at 7am for about 10min and make sure to pop in a couple for yourself. They still pair well with that cup of coffee.
Kidfresh has more than three items, but let’s be realistic, your kid eats about three things total just like mine. It may be three different things, but we can bond knowing that we suffer in silence together. These little pizzas are also the perfect size to fit into lunch containers. If you use like us, you know what I mean. Again, throw these in the toaster oven right when you turn on the coffee maker, and your Thursday morning just got a lot easier.
