We first learned of Once Again when Max went into a peanut-free preschool. We had to switch from peanut to sunflower butter and found this local (make in upstate New York!) company making pretty tasty spreads. When I say tasty, I mean, it even fooled a toddler. We’ve always been big fans especially since they’re a local business, fully employee-owned, and even their mascot, the raccoon, has a lovely animal story (when they were first making product, they rescued four baby raccoons who were raised at the factory and loved the nut butters!).
Fast forward a few years, and he’s no longer in a nut-free school, but we still enjoy sunflower butter. In fact, we’ve expanded out to try a few more including almond, cashew and even hazelnut butters! The plant-based world has really helped to open up the possibilities!
The lastest fun addition from the Once Again family is their Organic Amore Almond Spread with Milk Chocolate. While this isn’t fully vegan (hoping for a dark chocolate option soon!), it is plant-based and delicious (and most of their products are fully vegan)! It is also only made with a few simple ingredients you can understand :
Ingredients: Organic cane sugar, organic roasted peeled almond paste, organic skim milk powder, organic low fat cocoa powder, organic sunflower oil.
This is a fun addition to our pantry because we can use it for a lot of fun snacks and upgrades. We mixed it with more almond milk to make it a fun icing for cupcakes, we dip and drizzle on fruits for snacks, and ahem, it’s delicious as a topping on (dairy-free) ice cream.
It’s a great way to add some yum to your afterschool snacks and work slumps without all the guilt.
