Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and people are always asking what I want to do to celebrate it? Celebrate? Surviving motherhood everyday is a celebration in itself. I don’t need a specific day to recognize that. I do however, like to take the weekend off of work to spend time with Max. Instead of being pampered, I like to just disconnect. We’re big travelers (obviously) but this weekend, I prefer to just take a staycation. Of all the traveling we do, sometimes nothing is better than sitting at home and letting the world happen around you.
If I could request one thing though? I would say – come visit ME. We are always the ones traveling, but for once, I’d like if everyone came to us.
megabus.com did a survey and found that a majority of megabus.com customers miss their moms (64%), but the answer is right in front of them…many say mom would cry tears of joy if they surprised her with a trip (53%) or an unannounced visit (46%).
Sitting here in Pittsburgh, I’m reminiscing about the days when I had two roommates, and we loved every moment of it. We loved the open, revolving door of people, the laughter, the food, the memories (thank GOD these were the days before social media).
So I’ll admit it – living in a big city can get lonely. Especially on the days when Max is with his dad. Long gone are the days of house parties, beer pong tables and hangovers spent on the couches napping together while watching movies and eating Taco Bell. But it would be fun if for once some friends decided to come visit US in NYC instead of us coming to them. I get it, NYC is expensive, but that just means we’re going to have a massive sleepover together.
And you know what else? megabus.com is celebrating their 10th anniversary. I know for a fact they run out of Pittsburgh (I’ve taken my share of them!), and for a low price, you could be here in a few hours. Think you’re too cool for the megabus.com? You’re not. It’s the easiest way to travel to and from NYC (we take them when traveling down to DC a lot too, and have friends that come up!), it’s cheap AND it’s even good for the environment because you’re saving your carbon footprint. So do me and the earth a favor and grab a ticket to come up and surprise me next weekend – I promise I’ll stock my fridge in anticipation!

Thanks for your video! I found it really helpful.
As a mom, I’m constantly on the lookout for educational tools that help
my 8 year old learn math better, as she struggles most with that
subject. She takes well to the iPad though, as with most kids! 🙂 A
friend recently introduced me to Zap Zap Math, do give it a go… I’d
highly recommend you to test and review it yourself, as it’s helped my
daughter a lot. Some features I’d like to point out include:
– The app’s got really engaging
graphics, characters and game play, so she doesn’t realize how much she
really learns while engaged in ‘play’
– The math practice worksheets are
rich with a universe of educational content, and the app has new
exciting math games being added to it every 2 weeks!
– It’s aligned with Common Core
standards and learning modules. My girl gets her foundation right before
progressing to higher levels, and she’s addicted to getting higher
scores
– I’ve just signed up for the Virtual Assistant Dashboard at https://www.zapzapmath.com/user/signup, where I can easily keep track of her progress, from any place, anytime—parallel to her learning, while she independently learns.
Zap Zap Math can be downloaded across all devices here: http://www.zapzapmath.com/downloads. Hope you and your readers find it useful, as I have for my child.
