It’s definitely a weird year and Halloween is only about to make it get weirder. But tis the season – so over here, we’re saying embrace it and let the creepiness take over.
While it won’t be trick or treating most likely, it just opens up new doors to get creative as a family. And we’ve done our part with Halloweens past, including Maxs’ Halloween birthday party in July a couple of years back.
Costumes are still on the table and we’re ready to celebrate Halloween, and already have been.
Here in Astoria, our neighborhood LIVES for Halloween. The entire neighborhood goes all out. It’s spooky and fun to walk the neighborhood in the days leading up to the holiday, so we took a page out of See’s Candies Halloween 2020 kit to see it a little differently this year.
See’s Candies put together a fun Halloween 2020 kit full of ideas to celebrate in a safe way, including Halloween Bingo. So Max and I decided to take a stroll and see who could fill up our page first. (PS – we also drove around at night, too cause it’s even cooler to see them lit up!).
It’s been a great way to get outside and get fresh air, spend some time together, and also see some cool creepy decor.
Feeling stuck without trick or treating this year and looking for some safe, Halloween ideas for your family as well? Here are some of our favorites, including a few from See’s Candies Halloween 2020 Kit:
- Automo-Bingo (our favorite and will make a yearly tradition now!)
- The Curse of Blackbeard’s Treasure
- Trunk or Treat
- Spooky Night In – There are also a TON of great new movies to watch like Hubie Halloween (Neflix) and The Witches (HBO Max)
