Growing up in Pittsburgh, we might take football slightly seriously more than others.
We’re attending a Big Game party tomorrow, and have to bring some dishes to share. So clearly we wanted to bring the best of the best – the staples that hold football season together – sausages and buffalo chicken dip. I laughed and honestly didn’t get it when they said, bring something fancier.
Those are two words I never thought would go together – fancy and football.
I made me want to throw on my eye black and cut off sleeves right then and there.
And so tomorrow, we will bring the traditions and joy of Yinzer football to our NYC party. That means I’ll be transferring my trusty Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill and some packs of meat to the house down the street – yep, easy to carry and easy to cook in under 15 minutes or less. This grill has been our trusty sidekick for authentic homegating since we left da burg. We may not have tailgates in NYC, not parking lots to haul our grills. But that doesn’t mean you can take the tailgating out of the girl. We bring the tailgating home.
Once you realize you can grill a dawg or link inside basically as great at you can in zero temperatures outside Heinz Stadium, you’ll never go back. Even in our tiny little NYC apartment we can fit this compact grill that brings a little bit of home to the city. Not to mention, Max is the hot dog king and grilling them at home for me even at 6:30am before throwing in a lunch box makes me feel better than grabbing dirty water ones on the street. Plus, it leaves more time for game watching (and early morning coffee drinking).
So while you’re out grabbing your beers and eye black at the store for game day tomorrow – don’t forget to grab some sausages (and maybe wanna Prime a trusty grill for yourself!).
