This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Stash Tea. All opinions are 100% mine.

Being the Downton Abbey fan that I am, nothing excites me in my old(er) age than settling in for a hot cup of tea at night and some classic British television.
But tea has gotten a bad rep – it seems that only stuffy dignified upper class sip it with their pinkies up.
But this is a false stigma – in fact, we used to make our own sun tea back on the farm, and since then, I’ve always been hooked. Fresh, unsweetened iced tea with lemon has forever been my drink of choice.
In fact, I still drink it but sometimes like to spice things up with spiked iced tea (and sometimes hot toddys) especially on game days. Nothing says Sunday Funday like lemon tea and vodka (granny approved) or pomegranate raspberry tea with seltzer and gin. A true mixologist knows how to take things sitting around the home and make them something you would never think of.
And so that’s why I say it’s time to stop hiding your stash. Tea is one of the most versatile ingredients in your closet and you didn’t even know it. You can use it to make herbal sauces for meat (have you ever tried a lemon ginger turkey for Thanksgiving?), toss in a crockpot for flavors and aroma or kick up your Sunday football party a notch.
Tea is tasty AF.
Here is my favorite go-to recipe:
Lemon for your Ginger
- 1 Stash Tea Lemon Ginger tea bag
- 1 cup of sparkly lemonade (trader joes)
- 4 oz of your favorite liquor (vodka is good but I’ve found bourbon to work well too, and even mezcal)
- Splash of seltzer if too sweet
- Lemon rind
- Heck, garish that sh** with candied ginger and burnt rosemary if you want to be fancy AF
- Let your tea bag sit in a glass of room temperature sparkly lemonade and liquor for 5-10 minutes (trust me, it works)
- Remove the tea bag, add ice, a splash of seltzer and shake, shake, shake
- Garnish
**You can also party prep – sometimes I like to make a full canister overnight to let it sit and steep. I usually add about 4-8 tea bags to a gallon glass container. I would say add half the bottle of liquor (or the full thing depending how yinzer you are) and then you have cocktails ready to go for game day.
If you’re like me, you can always hide your “stash” in a yinzer mug. It blends in with all the black and yellow and no one will question your decisions when they are more worried about the refs.
So go bold, bust out your stash and have more fun in your life. Bright yellow lemon and ginger fun. Want to grab some? Use code missstephb for 15% off. Shop here!
