I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for the Florida Department of Citrus. I received promotional item to thank me for participating.
NYC takes football seriously.
Even in a city full of tons of activities, sports and teams, football shines through – much to my delight. Last week I had the chance to get into the football mood by tossing some balls, tailgating, and grilling in Herald Square with Florida Orange Juice. Nothing like combining your favorite sport with your favorite city, and some tasty food and drinks to boot. (Florida Orange Juice is currently hosting a public campaign on the health benefits of 100% orange juice, and incorporating it into family traditions during the football season. Notice I said 100% orange juice – no sugar added.)
How Do You Tailgate?
So in Pittsburgh, our tailgates are pretty badass. Friends plan way in advance to have djs, chefs grilling in the lot, flatscreens, ice luges, and more. You plan to get there at least three hours in advance to the game (even in sub-zero temperatures), and it’s bad etiquette to actually black out BEFORE the game starts, although I think we’ve all been there at least once. Even the police get into the spirit. No one tailgates like a Yinzer.
So how do you tailgate? What games are you attending this year?
New Tailgating Traditions and Treats
So Florida Orange Juice is here to help. They know burgers and beers are great with football, but how about some new marinades using fresh juice? Sounds effin delicious to me. Plus, it’s easy to make the marinades at home overnight with the meat (or veggies), so you’re not packing up all the ingredients to take with you to the stadium. See recipe here.
Oh, did I mention I got to hang out with fellow ZTA sister and football lover, Erin Andrews? Girls who love football are badass. Erin is a southern girl, attended college in Florida (why she’s the perfect spokesperson to represent Florida Orange Juice AND football!), but we still share bonds over sisterhood and the coolest sport around.
I even had my girlfriend Lydia stop by to grab some grilled chicken with the Florida Orange Marinade. Seriously, tailgating in the middle of Herald Square is pretty awesome, but I can’t wait for cold weather, cold beers and hot grills in the stadium parking lot. And wearing lots of black and gold when the Steelers come up to play the Jets later this year.
Who’s ready for some football!?????
