I was just out with fellow NYC mom blogger Allison Cooper of Project Motherhood this weekend at the Astoria Halloween parade, and as we were looking around, we were commenting on how quickly products for moms change. Being her son is 8 years old, she mentioned how they didn’t even have baby carriers then. Wow! You mean she SURVIVED without an Ergo? Or Food Containers for kids like ReSqueeze? Get the F outta here….
This is why I have given in to doing a review/give away here and there. Because it’s MOMs that HELP OTHER MOMS. Brands will reach out to me from time to time (I know, little old me! An expert at something other than jager bombs! Oh how things have changed), and if I think the product looks like something that fits my lifestyle and criteria (healthy, organic, nyc, kid friendly, makes MY life easier!), I will give it a shot.
Hence ResSqueeze. Now lately I am obsessed with Instagram. It is amazing for businesses and blogger to connect (if you’re not on Instagram, you’ve been told! Get an account today!) I also like it because, being a small business owner myself, it gives brands an opportunity to showcase their products and catch my attention. And I love to support emerging and small business! I think they are the bread and butter to our economy, are usually much better crafted items, and have a great story to tell.
So back to ReSqueeze. They were watching on Instagram, and noticed that I like food – and not just food, real food that I made myself, especially for Maximo. So they asked me if I would like to try ReSqueeze – because they are REUSABLE pouches you can fill with your OWN food.
Hmmmm that sounded PERFECT for our road trips to Pittsburgh! And for living in NYC, where pouches can run you upwards of $4-5 A PIECE in the city! SWEAR!
I can get an ENTIRE BAG of APPLES for that price to make my own applesauce (see my Gram’s Homemade Applesauce Recipe here) and fill in the ReSqueeze bags.
So does Maximo approve?
It doesn’t matter how much I LIKE a product if Maximo doesn’t. So the real critic here is my 16 month old toddler, who has hit the ‘picky’ phase. Somedays he’ll only eat bananas. Some days cheese sticks. But he has YET to turn down a pouch full of mom’s homemade applesauce in a ReSqueeze!
Mom approves because it’s BPA-free and dishwasher safe. Because you really think I have time to wash dishes? LOL
How do we ReSqueeze?
– Road trips to Pittsburgh. (you can pre-make food and fill for the ride!)
– Trips into the city (perfect for a snack when you have a squirmy toddler on the subway.)
– Day trips out and bout – like the Bronx Zoo.
What do you put in ReSqueeze?
Anything that will puree, which is literally ANYTHING. Our favorite and recommendations?
– #1 pick: Gram’s Homemade Applesauce Recipe
– sweet potatoes and carrots (add a little water so it’s not a thick paste)
– smoothies! (our favorite is to blend bananas, strawberries, spinach, ice or milk). You can’t even TASTE the spinach and it adds all that good stuff like nutrients and vitamins.
Win Your Own ReSqueeze – Food Containers for Kids!
ReSqueeze has even given me TWO four-packs of their reusable pouches to give away so you can try them yourself!

yes yogurt is great in there! I even freeze it a little to make it slushie – max loves it cold! (or it’s great to freeze and let defrost while you’re out and about for the day in your diaper bag!)

So, anytime I buy pouches, Isaiah eats two (or more) at a time. I cannot afford his pouch habit!! I have been wanting to get refillable ones, but which ones are best?!? Thanks for the review Steph!
Stephanie Barnhart says
I know it’s hard to know what’s the best products out there anymore – it can be really overwhelming esp for new moms – I remember – that’s how I got into all this lol.
I will tell you these bags are pretty good – they’ve held up through a few washes in the dishwasher already and a few freezings. and maximo likes throw them too. haha

As a new grandma, I have used the premade pouches. My grandson is on organic food, so it’s cheaper to make in large quantities!!! If I could give these to his mom, she could use them for freezing, and for daycare. I think they are excellent, and Eco friendly!!!!
Stephanie Barnhart says
Yes they are great for freezing! That’s how I use them before trips so they start to thaw on the long hours and are ready and cold right about half way to Pittsburgh haha – good luck!
