About a month ago Claudio got a new iPhone. Since he bought it through the cell phone provider, they shipped him a phone – meaning he had to “backup” and “upload” all content into the cloud himself so he could transfer it to the new phone.
Well, something went wrong. Instead of backing up to the cloud, it erased everything. Every photo, every memory – we’re talking even Maximo’s birth photos. Claudio turned pale. He sat at the computer the rest of the evening into the wee hours of the night trying to retrieve them. Hours spent on the phone with Apple, all to no avail. I was pretty sure I was going to wake up in the am to my beautiful Mac on on the ground of our parking lot, 5 floors down.
Finally after a couple days – something miraculous happened – Apple somehow found the photos and Claudio’s life was forever changed. I told him, we can NEVER risk this again and needed to get a better plan of action to protect our photos. In this day and age of digital, Facebook and photos – you don’t really think about losing them all. But guess what – computers die. Social platforms fade. We needed to find something permanent to host our photos.
So when BlinkBuggy reached out to see if I would be interested in trying their new app – I was intrigued.
What exactly is Blinkbuggy?

4 Reasons I Love Blinkbuggy
1. I can backup my photos directly through the Blinkbuggy app on my phone. Now my photos can be hosted on a separate system where they are safe. If I lose my camera, if it breaks, if the backup doesn’t work! PLUS! I can organize the photos into collections, so I am able to keep track of them. It’s not just one large scrolling list of photos. Phew.
2. Extra Storage. For my job (and as a mom) I am ALWAYS snapping a million photos everyday. Now I can save the images I want to keep for later on BlinkBuggy. Since I can organize them into different collections too. So if I want to throw a bunch of photos into a folder to write up for a blog post later, they are all there – and no longer taking up space on my phone. Or if I want to create a new collection of Maximo photos on the playground – I can organize them into these certain categories as well.
3. Privacy. I love that Blinkbuggy defaults to “private” when I upload photos as well. I have the option to make them public, or just share with certain friends or groups into Blinkbuggy, but I don’t have to worry about personal photos accidentally showing up online. I’ve had this issue with other photo hosting sites – yikes!
4. Printing and Stationery. In this digital age, I don’t end up printing enough photos. But having a one-click option to print and be delivered to my home has caught my attention. Since my photos are already hosted here, it’s easy to create thank you cards, Christmas cards, and more as well. This mom loves efficiency!
Also – they have many more features available when using the desktop version – so you can edit, add text, re-organize the photos and more. And also order some pretty cool books and cards!
