So you’re tuning in on Sunday to watch some football? Let’s call it what it really is.
The Big Game, as they refer to it, is to many of us losing team watchers a chance to drown our sorrows of our team while hurling judgmental comments at the screen for mistakes our teams, of course, wouldn’t make while indulging in heartbreak gluttony.
So you’re gonna need some provisions to get through all that.
Don’t worry – you can do better than just cleaning out the chip and dip aisle. And Peapod makes it easy for you.
And don’t worry – I still can make VEGAN big game awesome too.
What’s the spread this year?
We did keep it simple. Lots of fresh veggies and organic chips, nuts and (vegan) cheese. Yes, Peapod carries all these things – and deliver for you – so it’s not hard to keep your Big Game veg fest full of real veggies.
What’s that ranch? Sure is. You can easily make:
Vegan Ranch Dressing
- 1 cup vegan mayonnaise (available at Peapod!)
- 1/4 cup soy, oat or almond milk
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Dash fresh ground black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar (regular vinegar is also ok, but apple cider is better)
- 2 tsp. parsley (fresh chopped)
Sweet Potato Boats
- 5-6 sweet potatoes
- vegan cheese shreds
- jalapeno, chopped
- chives, chopped
- vegan ranch or vegan sour cream (wait what?)
Yes, you can easily make Vegan Sour Cream and it’s DELICIOUS.
- 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for at least 4 hours if you do not have a high-powered blender.
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
Combine in a Vitamix blender and add lemon juice to taste. Viola.
And there you have it folks, a simple, tasty and even vegan Big Game layout. Of course, feel free to add in some beer and wine into your cart while shopping.
