Another fantastic vegan find. If you’re tired of reading about vegan food – turn away now. But you’ll be missing out – this is the year to be vegan. There are so many delicious options I’m discovering that are meat- and dairy-free that you don’t even notice you’re giving up anything.
Case in point my most recent find:
These were a fun find because I LOVE pot pie. And pot pies are loaded with meats and cheese.
But these don’t make you feel like you’re giving up one of your little meat-loving items. Plus, they’re frozen and easy to heat up on-the-go for lunch, and found at most local grocery stores. In fact, once you locate them, you’ll probably find them surrounded by other fun vegan gems.
**Note – most grocery stores now separate VEGAN/meatless items into a separate area all together instead of just tossing them in with other frozen/dairy items. Make sure to ask your local store if you dont’ see them. See above – I now have a lovely little vegan area to shop consistently.
Okay, you’re new to this (so am I!) so you’re questioning the realness of the “meat” and “cheese.”
Again, this is the time to be vegan. They have basically perfected “cheese” to melt and crumble and spread the way it should. It’s so good you can fool most of your friends and six-year-olds. Go ahead – try it. I’ve substituted many “meat” items with meatless and dairy-free items and my six-year-old has yet to notice.
Which ones are my favorite?
The (handheld by the way!) Beefy Cheddar Pot Pie (12 grams protein, 480 calories, 0 cholesterol) is my go-to with the Philly Sandwich Burrito (11 grams protein, 300 calories, 0 cholesterol) a high second.
They also have Buffalo Chik’n, Pizza, Spinach Feta and Chik’n Pesto Pot Pies. Mexicali, Pizza and Chik’n Fajita Burritos.
So get brave, set outside your comfort food and try something that will change your mind about plant-based eating styles. And do it for just ONE MEAL A DAY for lunch and you can change the planet. And have your meat for dinner. Alpha Foods is proud to offer 100% plant-based foods to promote a healthier diet, support a more sustainable environment, and benefit animal welfare.
