If you would have asked me even a few months ago that I would down this health journey, I would have laughed. I grew up on a farm and we hunted animals to eat. Dairy and meat were staples in our diet. But we as get older and wiser, the evidence is pretty clear that eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes is where it’s at. They say this is the year of the Vegan, and I might just be that turning point.
There is a shift happening, and if you’re trying to eat better, this is the time to do so. There are tons of great options out there to help you try new foods without meat, and they’re actually really good. You’re not “eating grass” as Maximo would call it. Two new lines I recently discovered (which are available basically everywhere!) are these new Healthy Choice Morning Power Bowls, as well as their Vegan and Vegetarian Power Bowls.
Healthy Choice has been around providing you with just what they say – healthy choices that are grab-and-go. But lately, they’ve stepped up their game even more to give you that boost in the am you need. As a parent rushing to get a six-year-old out the door every day on my own, I have zero time to prep a healthy breakfast. In fact, I typically skip it and opt for coffee only. But having morning power bowls like this I can grab and throw in my bag to take to the office.
In fact, it’s been extremely helpful as you can see here. These commute into the city easily and heat up fast so I have both breakfast and lunch options. They’re also packed with protein and the Cauliflower Curry Power Bowl is VEGAN.
Trust when I say this was able to get me through lunch or breakfast AND a workout following at Barry’s Bootcamp.
So what’s my point on all this? Make things easier on yourself.
Living a healthier lifestyle isn’t hard – it’s simple. But we overcomplicate things in our lives and expect to make everything from scratch and Instagram it to be beautiful. Your heart and gut don’t care what food looks like as long as it’s going to make them feel better. But I mean, it IS still kind of pretty.
Bonus – even the BOWL is made from plant-based fiber that is recyclable!
