Well, I am barricaded in out here in Long Island for Frankenstorm so I figured I would take the time to catch up on blogging – and baking. Jess and Mike asked us to come apple picking with them upstate – and since I had never been before I thought it sounded fun! Another little trip upstate, look at the fall foliage, get some apples! Yes!!!!
Well, my blog should be titled “Adventures of First Time Moms – Jess and Steph tackle the world” because it seems Jess and I are exploring all these mishaps together – which makes it SO MUCH EASIER – so if you don’t have a mom-in-crime, get one!
It seems Jess and I can’t go anywhere without getting a story out of it. haha….
We trucked it upstate to Dr. Davie’s apple farm to pick apples off the tree ourselves. Since Jess and I are convinced we are super moms – we wanted to pick the apples, and bake apple pies from scratch all on top of other motherly duties. This sounds so fun for city folk! Hey!! Let’s pay $37 a piece to physically PICK apples out of trees, and then carry them half a mile back to our car only to go home and bake the pies ourselves! I am pretty sure I could pick up a pie for $5 bucks at the grocery store.
(sidenote, we weren’t really impressed with the place – it was overly expensive)
But hey! We are super moms! Domesticated goddesses! I wish there was social media back in the 1950’s – could you imagine a reality show with all THOSE housewives? Sedated for sanity, smacking kids, making them eat soap for swearing, no car seats! OH THE HUMANITY!!!! lmao.
So anyways, we need a reality show ourselves. After trucking it through mud and wind with babies strapped ourselves carrying heavy apple picking sticks to knock them out of trees and dodge bees and falling apples all for the SMALL PRICE OF $37!!! Let me see if I can paint a picture for you in photos – lol

We also decided to torture our children a little bit further that day and bought a pumpkin, carved it out and tried to take some cute baby-in-a-pumpkin shots. Obviously, Maximo and Mike weren’t as excited about it as we were. hahahaha
