If you’re a sports girl like myself, you have grown up watching ESPN just like our parents left the weather channel on all day. Those early years in my twenties were spent with countless hours behind the bar, and SportsCenter, PTI and Around the Horn. I knew more stats that most “doods” walking in and it didn’t hurt my tips 🙂 But as a yinzer surrounded by sports in the city of champions, we just genuinely loved watching sports and sports shows. Not these reality tv series that now dominate our cable channels.
So after nearly four years away, one of my FAVORITE ESPN personalities Sage Steele is returning “home” (aka – she’s come back to the east coast and CT!) to anchor a new-look SportsCenter:AM from ESPN’s Bristol, Ct., studios beginning Monday, August 28. That’s right – just in time for football season folks.
Steele, Jay Harris and Randy Scott will anchor the fast-paced 7-10 am ET edition of ESPN’s signature news and information program.
I actually grabbed brunch with Sage last week in the city to chat moms, moving and most importantly – sports (Baltimore had to come up a couple times haha). But she’s genuine and I am beyond to tune in before heading out the door for school to have her give me my most needed highlights.
So what is SportsCenter: AM
SportsCenter:AM was launched on Feburary 8, with 7 aam ET marking the earliest start ever for a live edition of SportsCenter on a regular basis and debuting a new format designed to inform sports fans as they go about their busy early morning routine. When it re-launches on August 28, the program will have new regular segments, new graphics and a revised set while continuing the mission of serving early-morning viewers.
Among new SportsCenter:AM segments:
- Story of the Day – three unique looks at the biggest news of the day.
- Translating Coachspeak – SportsCenter experts will translate clichés often used by coaches into what they REALLY mean.
- The Most – In the 8 a.m. hour, “The Most” will show viewers the most impressive, ridiculous, funny, awesome or memorable play from the day and night before.
So what other lady fans will be tuning in with their televisions set to ESPN like me?
