What are we up to this month you ask? Here is a list of where we’ve been, where we’re going and why you will want to as well!
Adventures in Wonderland
We spent a weekend in Amish Country, PA at one of the best old school amusement parks for little kids. If you want to take a step back in time (and your own childhood), see why Dutch Wonderland is one of our favorites. Read about the experience here.
Madame Tussauds Ghostbusters Experience
When I was kid, I used to watch this movie over and over and effin OVER. Ask my dad how sick of it he was. 30 years later, and it’s still cool (just saying!), and we checked out the exhibit dedicated to it at Madame Tussauds, and it was….awesome. If you don’t mind waiting an hour for the hyper reality tour, it’s highly recommended. I don’t want to give a lot away but it feels pretty real when you’re walking on top of a Manhattan skyscraper and trying to blast the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man! Read more about the experience here.
80s Video Arcade at the Museum of the Moving Image
Again, the 80s are taking over this summer (not to mention the awesome new series on Netflix, Stranger Things, that will throw you back into your childhood, too!) and we don’t mind. Just a few blocks away from our home is one of the coolest new age museums in NYC, and they are currently hosting a slew of those arcade games you used to love including Asteroids, Pac Man, Frogger and Donkey Kong.
Ice Age: Collision Course
Cool off with a cute new film for the kids that also teaches a bunch of science and space stuff! Grab tickets here.
Exploring Brookfield Place
One of our favorite places to grab a bite to eat, even if it’s dessert for lunch, is Brookfield Place. Located across the way from the 9/11 Memorials and One World Trade, this waterfront destination is a great place to cool off, eat and take in the views. Learn more here.
Junie B’s Essential Survival Guide to School
Did you know that Theatreworks USA offers FREE theatre for kids during the summer? And inside one of the coolest historic theatres in the West Village? Check here for dates, and head down for first come, first served tickets on performances dates (tickets are handed out one hour before the show, four tickets per family).
