Can you ever have too many books?
As an avid book reader (who also loves the feel of real books), I’m always looking for a new collection of reads for myself, and now the newest reader of the house – my first grader, Maximo. If you get sucked into buying new books as easily as I do, watching out – these books are totally perfect for the little readers in your life.
Not only are these books great for new parents reading aloud. As a new reader, we actually like to take these hard-back picture books more than the learn-to-reads because they always include beautiful, cute and creative illustrations, accessible and engaging stories (and they’re durable!). In fact, we love to actually read these to our neighbor’s two-year-old daughter. What’s better than a six-year-old learning to read, reading to a two-year-old?? Our favorite right now? The Itsy Bitsy School Bus.
Plus, the Dia De Los Muertos is the perfect “coffee table” book for first graders over the Halloween holiday.
