The Winter Games are so underrated. If you’ve ever gotten on a board or skis and attempted to go down a hill on ice, only to get beat up, take some falls and walk into the lodge utterly exhausted yet on a “snow high,” you can appreciate the art form that these competitions bring to life. Lindsey Vonn is one of my favorite athletes of all-time. Not only is she incredibly talented, she takes a beating and keeps on ticking. She won’t give up her dreams for anything, and I see a little of myself in her every time I see her attempt a new record. So what’s better than spending cold February days watching her tackle the slopes?
We’ve been prepping for these days of winter games for a while – and just like the big game of football, you need to come into these with some preparations. Luckily, Babbleboxx helped us get ready just in time.
Popchips Peanut Butter nutter puffs
If I’ve learned anything from athletes, it’s that protein wins the gold every time. And Popchips just introduced something to blow your mind – a tasty snack that’s actually not going to make you feel bad when you finish an entire bag (because you will!). These little puffs pack 5 grams of protein per serving – WITHOUT GMOs or artificial flavors. And they’re gluten-free and only 130 calories. So cuddle up for that next run (or wipeout!) with these on your lap and you won’t hurt your January resolutions. The best part? You can get these right on Amazon, too! Learn more here.
White Claw® Hard Seltzer
Let’s not forget that these are the winter games people, so we need to have some refreshments – preferably with a little something to take the anxiety edge off. My favorite cocktail is to pair tequila with flavored seltzer – but White Claw took it to the next level with SPIKED seltzer. This entire can of hard seltzer has only 100 calories and 5% alcohol, so you won’t blow your calorie count for the day, or blackout on black cherry before Vonn’s final run of the night. We picked these icy bad boys up at the local Whole Foods in Union Square (and Black Cherry is my favorite of the flavors!), but you can find where to pick some up near you with this locator. Bonus – it looks like plain seltzer so all your winter game viewing friends won’t even know you’re boozing it up unless you want them to!
BEE & YOU Royal Jelly Raw Honey
I cannot live without honey. It’s one of the best health options out there plus it’s sweet, so it’s always a better option than reaching for a cookie. BEE & YOU Royal Jelly Raw Honey is known to boost your immune system, increases energy, endurance & physical performance not to mention it enhances collagen synthesis (important for muscle building and repair). Even if you’re not a gold medal wearing athlete, you can see how these benefits are great for anyone (over the age of 1 of course). Plus, with the scary flu going around – who wouldn’t want to keep this in your cupboard?
They also have this ahhh-mazing propolis throat spray you’re gonna want to have on-hand for that next bout that hits your home, too.
My favorite way to enjoy honey? Honey popcorn! Many are scared of making your own homemade popcorn but it’s so easy. Literally throw three kernels in a pot with one tablespoon of coconut oil. Wait till they pop, remove from heat for 30 seconds and add the full cup of kernels. Toss with two tablespoons of melted BEE & YOU Raw Honey and Butter. Salt to taste. You’ll never go back!

PodPocket AirPod holder
It’s easy to lose your Airpods on the slopes, or just on the commute to work. Luckily the mother/son team of PodPocket made these slick little clip-on holders to make sure that doesn’t happen. There’s even an access opening on the bottom to allow charging. That’s pretty smart. And if you have kids, you’re going to thank this mom/son duo personally when you save money from buying new Airpods all the time!
