Believe it or not, Animal Crossing has actually been around for years and was just recently introduced to Nintendo Switch (and Switch Lite). There is really NOTHING you can’t do in this game and it’s always showing us new and fun things to do. So it’s for adults, too? Yes! It’s one of my favorite games to play with Max together. We have tents, we grow flowers, we explore nature (there are waterfalls!)… everything! There is so much to see and do and we do it together. So why do we love Animal Crossing New Horizons? Here’s just a few reasons why you should pick up a copy for your home for the holidays!
Just make sure you water your flowers (hey, they at least sparkle to let you know!).
1. You can host a family island – up to four people.
Yes, Animal Crossing gets a lot of slack because you can only have one island per Switch – not per game or user but PER SWITCH. But, honestly, we kind of like it. Max and I have our own corners on our island and it’s sort of cute to be able to walk over and visit. You can have up to four people on an island (but you’ll need four controllers to do so).
2. You can explore other people’s islands – including famous people.
Even Joe Biden has been known to play Animal Crossing. But the coolest is you can actually visit these peoples’ islands. Brie Larson is probably one of the most popular – check hers out! You can just jump on a plane and go visit a “mystery” island – you never know where you might end up.
3. There are seasonal changes, parties and surprises!
Yes, Halloween is here in Animal Crossing all month. and this means yes, there is a Halloween Night party on Animal Crossing this Saturday starting at 5pm (based on your time zone), too! Right now you can grow pumpkins, collect candy and eventually trick or treat. But come Saturday, Jack will be roaming around so be sure to log in! 4. You can throw birthday parties and even weddings!
